As the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) President it is a great pleasure to have the International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) as a valued member of the IPC.
Since 1989 when the IPC was founded, IBSA has played a key role in the development of sports for athletes with a visual impairment.
Under my Presidency I want to ensure that the IPC is an organisation for all, and over the coming years I aim to unlock the potential of Paralympic sport by working even closer with the IPC membership.
I want to work with individual members such as IBSA to take them to the next level. By doing so, we will provide betters services to Para athletes of the whole word and increase further the impact we can have on driving social inclusion.
The IPC’s aspiration is to make for a more inclusive society for people with an impairment through Para sport. We cannot achieve this aspiration alone, and by making the IPC membership even stronger I am confident we call all take the Paralympic Movement forward together.
I look forward to working with IBSA, its sports and its athletes in the years ahead.
