The Japan Blind Football Association recently hosted a level 2 seminar for blind football (B1) referees.

IBSA Football Referees Co-ordinator, Elias Mastoras, was on hand to deliver the training course to a select group of referees, with the focus on a number of case studies from the recent IBSA Blind Football European Championships in Berlin, Germany.

A mixed-gender group of officials attended in person while one official joined from Oceania via videolink.

The training seminar was very well-organized thanks to Japanese National Referees Coordinator Kazuo Takagi.

The IBSA Football Committee would like to thank the Japan Blind Football Association for organising the course.

Any country wishing to host level 1 or level 2 referee training in blind football are requested to contact the Refereeing Co-ordinator at

Japan will host the 2020 Paralympic Games from 25th August to 6th September. Blind football will be one of three IBSA sports on the programme, along with Goalball and Judo.
