Following the conclusion of an extensive bid evaluation process, Finland has been chosen to host the IBSA Goalball World Championship 2014.

With the standard of application being so impressively high, it was a difficult decision for the bid evaluation committee to make, especially as the runner-up - Sweden - made a particularly strong bid. However, in the final analysis, IBSA is delighted to announce that Finland has been selected as the location for the next IBSA Goalball World Championship in 2014.

Kari Marklund (Chairman of IBSA Goalball), said of the decision, "We offer our heartiest congratulations to Finland - and sincere thanks and commiserations to all other bidding nations. IBSA Goalball looks forward to working in close collaboration with Finland in the lead-up to what promises to be a most exciting tournament in 2014".
