For the second month in a row, a goalballer has made the IPC shortlist for athlete of the month.

Mohamed Mokrane from the Algerian men’s team has the honour this month.

He has been selected after an outstanding performance at the 2013 IBSA Goalball African Championships. He assisted the Algerian team on their way to becoming African champions without a single loss throughout the whole tournament. Algeria were not only undefeated throughout the tournament but also absolutely dominant. They won nearly every match with the maximum number of goal difference. Mokrane was instrumental in the number of goals adding up. He was the highest goal scorer for the tournament and made self 9 just in the final.

The prize for Algeria for this win is qualification to the 2014 IBSA Goalball World Championships.

Mokrane has been a long standing member of the Algerian team and as also the star from the team during the 2012 London Paralympic Games.

If you would like to support him and vote, please go to www.paralympic.org  and  cast your vote before 17 January 2014.
