IBSA Goalball Europeans C for 2015 confirmed

  • Date: 21-08-2014

We at IBSA Goalball are excited to announce that the host for the 2015 IBSA Goalball European Championships Men C has now been found.

Malmö, Sweden, will be welcoming all C division countries plus any new goalball nations from 1 to 6 February 2015. Teams will be expected to arrive on the 1st February and depart on 6th February unless they choose to stay on for the Malmö Open.

FIFH Malmö will be organizing the championships supported by the Swedish Sporting Organisation for the Disabled. FIFH Malmö has a rich history when it comes to organizing high quality goalball tournaments. Along with the yearly goalball tournament within the Malmö Open they are also responsible for organizing the prestigious Malmö Lady InterCup and the Men InterCup.

Sweden was the only IBSA member federation that placed a bid to host this tournament. This is what led to Sweden receiving the tournament despite them not being a current C division nation.

Due to the championship being directly before the Malmö Open, this is a great opportunity to combine the two as either spectator or participant or both.

For those who have been to the Malmö tournaments then they will know that there is one man who is always plays a key role in making these tournaments successful. That man is Peter Björkstrand and we can happily announce that he has accepted the role as Technical Delegate at the C Championships.

We would like to thank and congratulate Sweden and Björkstrand on their appointments and for stepping up to take the task on of holding the 2015 IBSA Goalball European Championships Men C.
