Venice goalball results on-line

Results are now available from the Venice International Goalball Tournament, held in the Italian city two weeks ago.

In the women’s event Sweden defeated the Ukraine by four goals to two to win gold. Top scorers were Sofia Neasstrom and Victoria Andersson from the winning team on 7 goals each.

In the men’s tournament it was the Czech Republic who took gold thanks to a resounding 11-4 victory over Sweden. Ukraine came third, beating Slovenia 9-4 in the play-off match.

Anton Strelchyk from Ukraine was the pick of the goalscorers with a total of 24 goals in the tournament.
